Growing up in Beckley, West Virginia in the 1960’s and early ‘70’s there was only one radio station worthy of attention – 62NR, the venerable 620 WWNR. AM radio ruled, and The Beatles, Perry Como, and Patsy Cline were played with abandon by The Good Guys, 62NR’s wonderful air staff. I remember live remotes from Santa’s little house downtown, as area children told him their Christmas wishes. A talking bird on the morning show. Listening late into the night with my little black transistor radio hidden under my pillow. Things like that will make a kid fall in love with radio, so I guess that’s what happened to me. I majored in Secondary Education at West Virginia Wesleyan, but high school teaching jobs were hard to come by in the early 1980s, so I ended up working in the media I’ve always loved, radio.

My wonderful husband, Rick, and I will celebrate our 24th anniversary this year, and our kids, Karl and Katie, are my teen power team. We attend Redeemer Lutheran Church and dig sci-fi, comedy, and animated movies, pizza, Chinese food, and old-fashioned cooking. I’ve sung in classical choruses since college now sing with the WV Symphony Chorus and WomanSong, as well as my church. I’m blessed to be playing this great music for you every day and working with Mike, Jackie, and the rest of our staff. 107.3 KAZ-FM listeners ROCK and RULE!
