 The Charleston Compassionate Friends is a self-help support group open to  all parents who have lost a child. The goal of the group is to help those of all faiths understand what is happening and to provide support to get back on their feet.  The group mostly meets on the 4th Monday of the month at 7 PM with a few exceptions depending on the holidays.  The meeting location is CAMC Woman's and Children Hospital Family resource Center corner of  Washington St and Pennsylvania Ave. The meeting dates for 2010 are Mon. Sept. 27th- Bench Dedication, Mon. Oct. 25th, Mon. Nov. 22nd & Mon. Dec. 12th-Candle Lighting.

 September 11, 2010 - SPEAKEASY SINGLES Football Themed Dance, Saturday, 8:00pm – 12:00pm (doors open at 7:30pm).  St. Luke United Methodist Church Youth Group sponsors a clothing giveaway on the last Sat of each month from 9am-1pm at the church located at 702 Hansford St. in St. Albans (off Kanawha Terrace). For complete info call Debi Schaible at 304-543-0640.

 KV Mommies -  A group of local moms in the Kanawha and Putnam Co. area. KVMommies is a part of the nation wide Mommies Network. There is no fee to join the group. It's for all moms such as stay at home moms, working moms and even step moms... and a group for ALL ages. Weekly chat meetings, monthly moms night out, meet at least one week a month for coffee, and activites for the kids. Tons of forums for all kinds of support! Muscial jam sessions are back at Hansford Center in St. Albans. Musicians are invited to come and pm with others from 5-9pm on the 3rd Friday of every month. The public is also invited to come and enjoy the "jammin"!! For more information call 304-722-4621.

 The South Charleston Lions Club sponsors a diabetes support group at 7pm on the 3rd Monday of each month at the 1st Church United Methodist, Myers Avenue and 14th Street in Dunbar.
